“Development of a technology for the production of a complete refrigerated semi-trailer with improved technical parameters for food transport”

This project involves the search for new material and construction solutions that will enable us to fulfil the primary research objective of developing the production technology for a fully-automatic semi-trailer with reduced own weight for refrigerated transport and increasing the thermal insulation of refrigerator walls.

This will be achieved by carrying out the following specific practical objectives:

• application of a novelty insulating material to build refrigerator walls, that has not been used so far (with particular regard to aerogels),
• reducing the number of thermal bridges,
• reducing the thickness of the walls of the new type of refrigerator,
• improving the aging characteristics of the walls of the new type of refrigerator,
• improving the durability and flexibility of body walls,
• strengthening of the chassis load-bearing capacity.

WIELTON S.A. leads the tender for the external Audit of the project under the B Strand Applied Research Programme titled: “Development of a technology for the production of a complete refrigerated semi-trailer with improved technical parameters for food transport”, carried out by WIELTON S.A. in cooperation with the Przemysłowy Instytut Maszyn Rolniczych PIMR (Industrial Institute of Agricultural Machines) with its registered office in Poznań, 60-963 Poznań, ul. Starołęcka 31, and Politechnika Poznańska (Poznań University of Technology) with its registered office in Poznań, 60 – 965 Poznań, pl. Marii Skłodowskiej Curie 5, Instytut Maszyn Roboczych i Pojazdów Samochodowych (Institute of Machines and Motor Vehicles) and co-financed by the Narodowe Centrum Badań i Rozwoju (National Centre for Research and Development).
